بررسی نگرش و چالش های پیش روی مدرسان زبان انگلیسی دانشگاهها نسبت به تدریس آنلاین زبان انگلیسی در دوران قبل و بعد از مواجهه با بحران کرونا

چکیده

چهل و یک مدرس زبان انگلیسی از سرتا سر دانشگاه‌های ایران با پر کردن پرسشنامه آنلاین در مورد نگرش آن‌ها نسبت به یادگیری الکترونیکی در قبل و بعد از بحران کرونا در مرحله کمّی این مطالعه شرکت کردند. برای بخش کیفی این مطالعه، تعداد شانزده مدرس زبان انگلیسی داوطلبانه از طریق دعوت در این پژوهش شرکت کردند. از مدرسان خواسته شد تا در مورد شیوه‌های انتخابی خود در انجام آموزش آنلاین زبان و چالش‌هایی که با آنها روبرو بوده‌اند، گزارش کتبی نوشته و ارسال کنند. پنج نفر نیز که امکان ارتباط ویدئویی داشتند برای مصاحبه نیمه ساختار یافته بصورت جداگانه انتخاب شدند. کدگذاری داده ها انجام شد ونتایج لازم به دست آمد. برای اعتبارسنجی داده ها، کدنویسی داده ها بطور مستقل توسط پژوهشگران به همراه چندین چرخه بحث انجام شد. تجزیه و تحلیل داده‌های کمّی افزایش معناداری در نگرش مثبت نسبت به یادگیری الکترونیکی از قبل به بعد از بحران کرونا را نشان داد. نتایج تحلیل داده‌های کیفی نیز حاکی از آن بود که مدرسان، تدریس آنلاین را از طریق یک سری فعالیتها همچون کنترل حضور دانشجویان در کلاس مجازی و نمره دهی به تکالیف و پروژه بصورت همزمان یا ناهمزمان انجام می دادند. برنامه ها و سیستم های مختلفی مورد استفاده این مدرسان بوده است. با این حال، مشکلات زیادی در انجام این مهم برای دانشجویان و مدرسان پدید آمده است. بنابراین، یادگیری آنلاین از آنجا که فاقد زیرساختارهای لازم بوده با موفقیت به انجام نرسیده است. پیامدهای یادگیری آنلاین موفق نیز مورد بحث قرار گرفته است.

Employing a mixed-methods design, this study attempted to investigate Iranian EFL instructors' attitude toward e-learning before and after COVID-19, how they did their online EFL teaching, and what challenges they faced during COVID-19. Forty-one university ELT instructors from across the country participated in the quantitative phase of the study by filling out an online questionnaire about their attitude toward e-learning before and after the crisis began. For the qualitative phase of this study, 16 instructors who volunteered to participate in this research were asked to consider in writing their practices in conducting online EFL classes and the challenges they encountered since COVID-19 broke out. Five of them were also consented to participate in a semi-structured follow-up interview. Analysis of the quantitative data showed a significant increase in positive attitude toward e-learning from before to after the crisis. Analysis of the qualitative data also showed that the instructors conducted online teaching through a series of activities, ranging from checking student presence to evaluating student work synchronously or asynchronously, depending on university policies. Various applications and platforms were used, ranging from learning management systems (LMS) to additional resources. However, many problems arose with the students and the instructors. It can be concluded that online teaching did not go well because it was not prepared and preplanned. Implications for better online learning are also discussed.
