Abstract

In the era of globalization and the domination of information-oriented media, the need for language specialists in the field of media translation is strongly felt. This need arises from the continuous growth and evolution of the media industry, which creates a greater demand for the training of translators. But by examining various aspects of media text translation training in Iran, it is concluded that the educational goals are not realized due to the lack of consideration of the structure of the media and the function of this type of translation. The aim of this thesis is to rely on the framework of the Scopus theory and translation theories such as "functional translation", "theory of descriptive studies of translation" and other dominant theories on the science of translation, "headline writing" of the media translation course in the undergraduate language course and examine German literature at the offering universities as well. This descriptive research examines the data of the subject of this course approved by the Ministry of Science and provides qualitative analyzes for this purpose. In this research, after analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the course, scientific and practical solutions for processing and transferring media translation skills are presented to students, and in this regard, based on the scientific analysis, suggestions are made to overcome the weaknesses. The result of this article shows that there is a need to provide a supplementary course or even a specialized course in media translation.
