Story-based instruction is considered as one the major approaches of second language teaching, which is introduced in the present paper, and it is shown that it can be considered as an efficient approach for teaching Persian language to the non-Persians. After reviewing the various methods of language teaching and explaining the importance of each one, this paper has emphasized on teaching language skills through storytelling. Among the stories in Persian language, Masnavi stories are selected as an authoritative resource for producing educational content, which are derived from human common values. In addition to introducing various aspects of Islamic Iranian culture, a native approach in teaching Persian language to the non-Persians would be achievable through this choice. با تحوّل آموزش زبان دوم از آغاز قرن نوزدهم رویکردها و روش‌هایی همچون روش دستور-ترجمه، روش شنیداری-گفتاری و روش مستقیم در این زمینه به کار گرفته شده‌اند؛ با طرح نظریه‌ی آموزش زبان ارتباطی نیز رویکردهای محتوامحور متعدّدی شکل گرفت. آموزش مبتنی بر داستان یکی از رویکردهای مهم آموزش زبان دوم است که در مقاله‌ی حاضر معرّفی گردیده و نشان داده می‌شود که برای آموزش زبان فارسی به غیر فارسی زبانان به عنوان رویکردی کارآمد می‌تواند مورد توجه قرار گیرد. در این نوشتار پس از مروری کلّی بر روش‌های مختلف آموزش زبان و بیان اهمیت هر یک، بر آموزش مهارت زبانی از طریق داستان‌‎گویی تأکید می شود و از میان داستان‌های موجود در زبان فارسی داستان‌های مثنوی که برآمده از ارزش‌های عام بشری هستند به عنوان منبعی معتبر برای تولید محتوای آموزشی انتخاب می‌گردند. با این انتخاب علاوه بر معرفی جنبه های مختلف فرهنگ ایرانی اسلامی می‌توان به یک رویکرد بومی در آموزش زبان فارسی به غیر فارسی زبانان نیز نزدیک شد. https://jflr.ut.ac.ir/article_62316_e8dc2756032caab388edf5893ffa514f.pdf
