Although the number of studies conducted in this area has been vast, there is a paucity of literature on the impact of in-service teacher education courses on teachers’ decision-making (re)construction. To bridge this gap, in the present qualitative multiple case study, pre- and post-course classroom observations and the teacher education course were conducted to investigate four novice EFL teachers’ instructional decision-making. Content analysis based on Stronge’s (2007) five teacher skills checklists and microgenetic constructivist moment-by-moment discourse analysis were employed. Findings indicated five shifts from using “L1 to using L1 as well as L2 for instruction”, “one method to use different approaches and strategies in teaching,” “paper-and-pencil based activities to incorporate technology in teaching,” “whole-class or individual to using different grouping activities,” and “a strict approach to using games for teaching and learning” in teachers’ decisions. In view of the findings, it can be concluded that the focus of targeted teachers changed as a result of participating in this course. They brought valuable information from the tacit to the conscious level, negotiated it, and reshaped it to some extent. They became more aware of their abilities and considered the context, students’ levels, needs, and demands. These results are consistent with many of the previous findings reported in the literature. The main implication of this study is for institute managers, teacher educators, and EFL teachers regarding decisions and the significant role of reflection on them.}, keywords = {decision-making,language teacher education,KARDS,Novice EFL teachers,Teachers&rsquo,skills checklists}, title_fa = {تأثیرات دوره ضمن خدمت بر تصمیم‌گیری‌های آموزشی معلمان زبان انگلیسی}, abstract_fa = {. اگرچه تعداد مطالعات انجام شده در این زمینه بسیار است، اما مطالعات اندکی در مورد تأثیرات دوره‌های آموزش ضمن بر (باز)سازی تصمیمات معلمان وجود دارد. برای پاسخ به این خلاء پژوهشی، طی یک مطالعه موردی کیفی چندگانه، تصمیم‌گیری‌های آموزشی چهار معلم تازه‌کار زبان انگلیسی از طریق مشاهدات کلاسی پیش و پس از دوره آموزش معلمان بررسی و برای تحلیل داده‌ها از تحلیل محتوا بر اساس فهرست‌های پنج مهارت معلم استرانگ (2007) و تحلیل گفتمان لحظه به لحظه میکروژنتیک استفاده شد. یافته‌ها حاکی از پنج تغییر شامل تغییر از «استفاده بیش از حد زبان اول به استفاده متناسب از هر دو زبان برای آموزش»، «استفاده از یک روش تدریس به استفاده از رویکردها و راهبردهای مختلف»، «استفاده از روش‌های سنتی به استفاده از فناوری در تدریس»، «استفاده از فعالیت‌های جمعی یا انفرادی به استفاده از گروه‌بندی مختلف در انجام فعالیت‌ها» و «استفاد از رویکرد سختگیرانه در تدریس به آموزش با استفاده از بازی‌ها» در تصمیم‌گیری معلمان می‌باشد. با توجه به یافته‌ها می‌توان نتیجه گرفت که تمرکز معلمان در نتیجه شرکت در این دوره تغییر کرده‌است. آنان اطلاعات ارزشمندی را از سطح ضمنی به سطح آگاهانه آورده، در مورد آنها مذاکره کرده و تا حدی آنها را تغییر‌دادند. آنها بیشتر از تواناییهای خود آگاه شدند و زمینه، سطوح، نیازها و خواسته های دانشآموزان را در نظر‌گرفتند. نتایج مذکور همسو با بسیاری از یافته‌های مطالعات صورت گرفته قبلی است. پیامدهای اصلی این مطالعه برای مدیران مؤسسات، کارشناسان تربیت معلم و معلمان زبان انگلیسی در خصوص تصمیم‌گیری‌ها و نیز نقش مهم تأمّل در تصمیمات است.}, keywords_fa = {تصمیم گیری,آموزش معلمان زبان,کاردز,معلمان تازه‌کار زبان انگلیسی,فهرست های بررسی مهارت‌های معلمان}, url = {https://jflr.ut.ac.ir/article_90345.html}, eprint = {https://jflr.ut.ac.ir/article_90345_d1c229aac0c632d5179ac88ab63ac722.pdf} }
